Future of Carolina Forest Library Still Uncertain

When Carolina Forest residents asked for a library, they were presented with a shiny new $4 million dollar building. What they did not get, however, was a Librarian.  So the building sits idle, waiting for Horry County to find money in its budget to staff the building.

This brings us to ask a few questions: How is it that Horry County can afford to spend $4 million dollars on a building, yet cannot set aside money to staff the library? And,  if Conway High School can rent out its Auditorium to a Church every Sunday, why are we not able to open the school library to the public after hours? What do you think?

First, let me put it out there: The Marvin Show knows no shame. In the past, Marvin has cooked every part of the pig, from the ears to the feet & even tried goldfish sushi. But what do you do when it is Ratings Week on The Marvin Show?

That’s right, a brand new low. This week, thanks in part to the “Deer Cam” he posted on Pine Lakes Golf Course, he will be cooking a brand new recipe:  Venison!

The Marvin Show is a weekly TV show where Marvin Latimer, formerly of Big Brother 5, attempts to cook a meal for under $20 in 25 minutes or less. Sometimes he pulls it off, and sometimes he doesn’t.

Have you ever wanted to try out a new recipe, but you are missing a few ingredients? That is what Marvin ran into this week. He was going to cook Maryland Crab Cakes, but could not get his hands on any Maryland Crabs. So, instead, he will be cooking “Scallop Cakes” & Shrimp Creole!

You can always tell when Marvin has been watching Soprano’s reruns: he starts talking about Italian food. This week he will make Homemade Pizza in 25 minutes or else “Tony  won’t be none too happy”. For dessert, there will be Deep Fried Smores.

Open Office is free software that is comparable to Microsoft Office.  If you have Microsoft Office documents you need to read, just open them up in Open Office. You can create a document in the word processor & convert it to a PDF right in the software!  Try it out today!
