P. F. Chang’s BBQ Ribs?

Over the past few months, about once a week, you could find Marvin Latimer at P.F. Chang’s in the Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. His goal? To get the recipe for their BBQ Ribs & duplicate it on his show.

Finally, after a few bribes and favors, he believes that he can cook these ribs exactly like the ones at P.F. Chang’s. Hopefully he can cook them in 25 minutes of less!

Since the dawn of time, man has tried to speed up things to get what he wants, right now. Rubbing sticks together was too slow to make fire, so he invented the Bic lighter.

But, there are some things that man will never make faster. One example is the checkout line at Wal-Mart. Another is how long it takes to cook Lima Beans.

When Marvin told me he was cooking Lima Beans this week on The Marvin Show, I said, “What is this, a three hour show?” He swears he can cook them in 25 minutes. I wont try them, but I wish him the best!

Can Can Pork Chops & Mofongo on The Marvin Show

Marvin goes international this week, cooking two famous Puerto Rican dishes: Can Can Pork Chops & Mofongo. Can Can Pork Chops are thick cut pork chops with the fat left on the edge, deep fried. Think of a pork chop with a slice of fatback attached to it. You knew there would be lard involved in this, right?

Mofongo is made from fried plantains mashed together in a wooden mortar & pestle and mixed with broth, olive oil & pork cracklings. Yes, pork cracklings.
